Augusta University rose 36 spots to No. 296 in the Best Colleges rankings published annually by U.S. News & World Report.

The university also ranked No. 161 in Top Public Schools, No. 114 in Nursing, and No. 252 in Top Performers on Social Mobility.

  • Emory University ranked highest in Georgia, coming in at No. 24 among top national universities.
  • Georgia Tech: Held steady at No. 33.
  • University of Georgia: Moved up one slot to No. 46.
  • Mercer University: Moved up five slots to No. 165.
  • Georgia State University: Moved up 31 slots to No. 196.
  • Augusta University: Up 36 slots to No. 296.
  • Georgia Southern University: Held steady at No. 343.
  • Clark Atlanta University: Held steady at No. 352.
  • University of West Georgia: Held steady at No. 371.
  • Valdosta State, Brenau and Kennesaw State: Held steady at their respective slots, ranging from 392-434

  • Spelman College: Ranked No. 1, and has held the top spot for more than a decade.
  • Morehouse College: Ranked No. 5.
  • Clark Atlanta: Moved up 2 slots to No. 19.
  • Fort Valley State: Held steady at No. 35.
