Dr. Brian Bergeron, Professor of Endodontics and Endodontics Residency Program Director, was recently elected to the American Association of Endodontists (AAE) Board of Directors. The AAE promotes the pursuit of education, research and leadership in the professional advancement of endodontics, both in the U.S. and around the world. The AAE board is the policy-making body of the association and has responsibility for strategic and budgetary matters concerning the association. AAE officers and new board members were installed during the AAE’s annual meeting in April in Los Angeles, California.

Bergeron will represent District III, which includes the states of Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina and Tennessee, for the next three years. He will commence his role first as Board Liaison to the AAE’s Resident and New Practitioner Committee, which will host APICES, a national continuing education meeting in Austin, Texas, in August. The DCG’s second-year endodontics residents will attend.

In addition, Bergeron just completed an eight-year term on the American Board of Endodontics, responsible for national specialty board certification, for which he served as 2021-2022 ABE president. He is a Diplomate of the ABE and a Fellow in the International College of Dentists. In addition, he serves nationally on the Scientific Advisory Board for the Journal of Endodontics and Journal of Dentistry. He also is a Commission on Dental Accreditation site-visitor for dental school accreditation. Dr. Bergeron earned his dental degree from the University of Florida College of Dentistry and his advanced dental education certificates (GPR and Endodontics) from the US Air Force residency programs.
