Capehart Named Interim Associate Dean for Business & Finance

Dr. Kim CaphartDr. Kim Capehart, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Advanced Education, has been named Interim Associate Dean for Business & Finance at The Dental College of Georgia at Augusta University.

“I am committed to ensuring that our financial operations align seamlessly with the university’s goals and maintain the highest standards of accountability and efficiency. My goal is to foster a strong financial foundation that supports our faculty, staff, and students in delivering outstanding dental education and care across Georgia,” Capehart said.

As Interim Associate Dean, Capehart will serve as the chief financial officer and principal business officer for The DCG, the state of Georgia’s only dental school. His duties include ensuring that the dental school’s administrative, operational and financial functions are aligned and integrated with the university’s and directing financial planning, budgeting and accounting.

“Dr. Capehart is exactly the right person to oversee our financial operations and to help carry us through this season of change,” said Dr. Nancy Young, Dean of The DCG.

The DCG has launched a national search for a permanent Associate Dean for Business & Finance.

Capehart graduated from Marshall University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and West Virginia University School of Dentistry with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. While he was in private dental practice in Simpsonville, SC, he earned a Master of Business Administration in Healthcare Administration from Regis University and a PhD in Leadership and Marketing from the University of Phoenix School of Advanced Studies.

He joined the DCG faculty in 2018 and holds the rank of Associate Professor in General Dentistry.
