DCG begins $1.2 million lighting renovation project

DCG Exterior Building

The Dental College of Georgia will begin a $1.2 million lighting renovation project on Wednesday, November 11. The project involves replacing existing lighting fixtures throughout the building with new, energy-efficient LED fixtures, including those in offices, hallways, clinics, simulation labs, and other areas.

Work will occur throughout the building as the project progresses. Weekly coordination meetings will be held on Mondays to review construction activities and coordinate work in areas where clinical and instructional schedules must be considered, particularly the clinics and simulation laboratories.

When possible, departmental administrators will be notified of the general areas or hallways where work is scheduled. However, work will not be scheduled around individual office availability, and advance notice before crews enter specific offices cannot be guaranteed.

Given the extensive scope of this project, some temporary disruptions to normal operations are unavoidable. Faculty and staff are expected to cooperate with the contractors, provide reasonable access to work areas, and accommodate the work as necessary to keep the project moving forward.

We appreciate everyone’s patience, flexibility, and cooperation as we complete this important facility improvement.

Questions or significant operational concerns may be directed to Shawn Parham at sparham@augusta.edu.
