DCG Celebrates Achievement With Senior Awards

More than 50 awards were recently conferred to the Class of 2022 at the annual DCG Senior Award Ceremony, recognizing clinical skills, leadership traits, academic success and research achievement among the graduating seniors and mentorship, teaching excellence and leadership among DCG faculty.

Katherine Merritt, John Morris and Beth Smith were chosen for four awards each. Merritt was awarded the Alpha Upsilon Phi Leadership Award, the American Association of Endodontists Predoctoral Student Achievement, the Dentsply Sirona Student Recognition Award and the Dr. Jeanne Craig Sinkford Student Leadership Award. Morris was awarded the International College of Dentists Student Leadership Award, the American College of Dentists Student Professionalism Award, the American Academy of Implant Dentistry Dental Student Award and the Mark Ritz Memorial Scholarship (Georgia Academy of General Dentistry Award d). In addition, Morris was honored as the president of the Class of 2022. Smith was awarded the American Academy of Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology Award, the OKU Senior Academic Achievement Award, the American Association of Orthodontists Senior Student Award and the OKU Senior Comprehensive Care Case Award. In addition, Smith was inducted into Phi Kappa Phi and was awarded a distinction in research.

Other students were also multiple award winners, including Wajdi Alsabia, Stephanie Jaipaul, and Jenni Loveless with three apiece; and Ali Azadi, Divya Chawla, Vlad Cobzaru, Caroline Glessner, Josh Massey and Trent Williams with two awards each.
