DCG Faculty Earn Accolades from AAFP

Several DCG faculty members received honors at the recent 72nd Annual Scientific Session of the American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics (AAFP). The AAFP is the premier international association for scholars, educators, prosthodontists, and professionals interested in the field of fixed prosthodontics, implants, and esthetic dentistry.

Drs. Mohamed El-Shewy, Yu Chun Lin and Daler Tarrazzi, all Assistant Professors in the Department of Restorative Sciences, were inducted as members of the AAFP.

Dr. Kent Knoernschild, Professor in the Department of Restorative Sciences, was awarded the 2023 Garver Staffanou Prosthodontic Program Director Award for Excellence. The Academy presents the Garver Staffanou Award to recognize post-graduate program directors who have made a significant impact and contribution to the art and science of fixed prosthodontics. Knoernschild has made significant contributions to post-doctoral education and demonstrated excellence through publications, presentations at national and international prosthodontic meetings and leadership roles in prosthodontic organizations. His former residents have also made outstanding contribution through clinical practice, academics, and research.
