Several DCG faculty were recently honored by the Pierre Fauchard Academy (PFA) at the Annual Meeting at the Ritz Carlton in Lake Oconee, Georgia.
• Dr. Amara Abreu, Associate Professor in the Department of Restorative Sciences, was awarded the Excellence in Dental Education Award. The award is in recognition for outstanding achievement and contributions to the clinical education program in the Dental College of Georgia at Augusta University.
• Dr. Doug Clepper (DMD, ’73) Clinical Assistant Professor, was awarded the Volunteer Faculty Award by the Pierre Fauchard Academy. The award is in recognition for his ongoing education contributions to the Dental College of Georgia at Augusta University. Dr. Clepper, a member of the DCG inaugural class, has volunteered for nearly 40 years in many capacities at the dental college. He currently serves an attending in the General Practice Residency with the Department of Restorative Sciences, he supervises senior dental students clinically with the Department of General Dentistry, and also finds time to serve as the Co-director of the DCG Implant MaxiCourse.
• Dr. Bill Bachand, Associate Professor in the Department of Restorative Sciences, was inducted into the PFA as a Fellow.
