DCG Honors MLK With Service

On Jan. 15, The Dental College of Georgia and the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University partnered with Garnett Johnson, Mayor of Augusta-Richmond County, for the second annual MLK Day of Service. The goal was to honor the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by upholding his values of service and commitment to humanity and the community.

DCG volunteers completed dental screenings for more than 50 participants. Among those who volunteered were DCG alum Dr. Cherie Murray (DMD, 2016), representing Christ Community Health Services; and DCG alum Dr. Grant Shelton (DMD, 2023), who is currently a Veterans Administration resident in the Advanced Education in General Dentistry program.

DCG students who volunteered include: Anjali Dave, Lisa Duong, Kyle Harris, Missy Hewett, Jieun Hong, Deana Kukhianidze, Nick Parbhoo, Jaimini Patel, Joanna Torres and Nicole Widjaja.
