DCG Recognizes Faculty for Excellence at Annual Retreat

Dental College of Georgia

The Dental College of Georgia recently presented several awards at the college’s annual faculty retreat on Dec. 14.

This annual event is designed to highlight excellence, to promote institutional values and to enhance understanding among faculty. DCG faculty were for their contributions during the past year. Award winners ranged from instructors to clinical leaders to supportive staff.

The DCG Teaching Excellence Award went to Dr. Brent Haeberle (photo left), Associate Professor in the Department of Restorative Sciences.

Several DCG committees chose a Most Valuable Player to honor:

• The Admissions Committee chose Dr. Ahmed El-Marakby, Professor in the Department of Oral Biology and Diagnostic Sciences.

• The Curriculum Committee chose Dr. Catherine Jauregui, Assistant Professor in the Department of Oral Biology and Diagnostic Sciences.

• The Promotion & Tenure Committee chose Dr. Amara Abreu, Professor in the Department of Restorative Sciences.

• The Research Advisory / Research and Table Clinic Planning Committee chose Dr. Mohamed Meghil, Assistant Professor in the Department of Periodontics.

• The Student Affairs Committee chose Dr. Ray Jeter, Assistant Professor in the Department of Restorative Sciences.

• The Student Academic Review Committee chose Dr. Brent Haeberle, Associate Professor in the Department of Restorative Sciences.

• The Clinical Education and Process Advisory Committee (CEPAC) chose Dr. Greg Griffin, Assistant Professor in the Department of General Dentistry.
