The Special Olympics Georgia (SOGA) Summer Games were held May 20-21 and students from The DCG offered volunteer services through a related organization called Special Smiles.
SOGA Special Smiles is a volunteer-run organization funded by the Georgia Dental Association Foundation that offers Special Olympics athletes health education and prevention, and refers athletes of all ages to sources of treatment and follow-up care. Dental professionals provide oral screenings, oral health education and personal prevention products, and individually fitted sports mouth guards, if needed.
Thank you to our DCG Special Smiles volunteers, and to all of our students, residents, staff and faculty who give their time, knowledge and skills to various worthy causes like this one throughout the year.
