The Dental College of Georgia at Augusta University kicked off the new academic year by welcoming the incoming Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) Class of 2028 with a lively freshman orientation program.
“We are thrilled to welcome the Class of 2028 to The Dental College of Georgia,” said Dr. Regina Messer, Associate Dean for Student Admissions. “This orientation program is just the first step in our commitment to providing our students with the knowledge, skills, and support they need to become successful dentists.”
Designed to introduce students to the rigors of dental school and foster a sense of community, the orientation program offered a variety of engaging activities.
Students had the opportunity to break the ice and connect with their fellow classmates and dedicated faculty members. This welcoming atmosphere is crucial for building a strong support network throughout their dental school journey.
Informative presentations provided valuable insights and tips for navigating the challenges and maximizing the rewards of dental school. From staying organized to finding a trusted mentor, these sessions equipped students with the tools they need to thrive in their academic pursuits.
To celebrate the beginning of this exciting chapter, a delightful picnic lunch was hosted for the students and their families. Featuring the delicious offerings of Shane’s Rib Shack and a selection of fun lawn games, the picnic provided a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere for students to bond with their classmates and families.
Bien-Air, a leading dental equipment manufacturer, generously presented each student with their first lab coat, marking a significant milestone in their dental education.
And Proctor & Gamble generously gifted each student a new Oral B iO series toothbrush, showcasing the latest advancements in at-home dental care.
The DCG looks forward to an exceptional year with the promising Class of 2028.
