The Augusta University Dental Multicultural Association (DMA) held a lunch-and-learn on Feb. 4 for more than 60 students highlighting Lunar New Year and featuring Chinese cuisine. Dr. Steven Hsu, Professor in the Department of Oral Biology and Diagnostic Sciences, spoke about how this holiday is celebrated and and the history and traditions associated with it – such as symbolic imagery of peace and the importance of family time and sharing meals. Second-year dental student Christina Sun spoke about the animals associated with each year in a specific order in 12-year cycles. This year, we celebrate the year of the tiger.
