First-Year Students Receive Lab Coats

Freshman Lab Coats 2First-year students at The Dental College of Georgia were recently presented with their first lab coats, courtesy of Bien-Air Dental, a leading dental equipment manufacturer (see header photo). This collaboration between the DCG and Bien-Air began more than four years ago when the college switched to electric handpieces.

Bien-Air, a family-run company and a global leader in producing top-quality micromotors, contra-angles, turbines and handpieces, has generously extended its support to outfit the students with laboratory jackets for use in the simulation laboratory. This marked the fourth consecutive class to receive these jackets, symbolizing the beginning of their dental education journey.

At the heart of the event was Brian Logan, the DCG representative from Bien-Air, who traveled to participate in this significant ceremony. He spoke to students about his pride in supporting their journey, and his company’s commitment. His presence highlighted the strong partnership between the college and the dental equipment manufacturer, which has paved the way for advancements in dental education and practice.

To commemorate the occasion, Interim Dean Dr. Nancy Young took the opportunity to present the first-year students with a specially designed DCG t-shirt. This gesture aims to instill a sense of pride and unity among the students as they embark on their dental education at the esteemed institution. Each lab coat was specially embroidered with the students’ names.

The provision of lab coats and the commemorative gifts symbolize the beginning of a new chapter in the students’ careers and emphasize the importance of collaboration between academic institutions and industry leaders in fostering innovation and excellence in dental education.
