Giving Tuesday Provides Support to Hundreds

Augusta University Philanthropy & Alumni Engagement appreciates the alumni, friends, employees and students who helped make 2022’s #GivingTuesday a success. Because of donors’ generosity, AU will provide 529 meals to AU students experiencing food insecurity through the Open Paws Food Bank; and AU Health will purchase an additional Butterfly Cart and more than $800 in comfort care items for the carts to support AU Health patients and their families.

A donation to Open Paws also benefits the DCG Food Pantry, as an extension service. Or you can donate directly to the DCG Food Pantry by bringing donations of canned or shelf-stable goods and toiletries to the DCG Student Affairs Office.

Open Paws Food Pantry is open to all enrolled AU students, and its sole purpose is to fight food insecurity. Prior to the pandemic, 30 percent of all college students experienced food insecurity at some point in their college careers.
