Sylvia Hammond, DCG Clinical Business Operations Manager, was recently recognized by the Augusta University Staff Council via the Praise Button, an honor that highlights employees who exemplify dedication, compassion and service across AU.
Hammond was nominated by colleague Sara Baksin, a fellow DCG Clinical Business Operations Manager, in cognition of her outstanding care she shows to patients and colleagues alike. In a recent clinic situation, Hammond demonstrated extraordinary compassion while assisting a special needs patient experiencing severe pain and anxiety. With patience and empathy, she took the time to sit with the patient, calmly talk through his concerns and connect with him on a level that provided comfort and reassurance during a difficult moment.
“She went above and beyond and showed what compassion means. She deserves recognition for her kindness and caring heart,” Baksin wrote.
Join us in congratulating Hammond on this well-deserved recognition. Thank you all for the compassion and dedication you bring to our community every day.
