HRSA Awards Grant to DCG

The Health Resources and Services Administration notified Dr. Alan Furness (left), Program Director/Principal Investigator, and Dr. John Coleman (right), Clinical Program Liaison/Co-Investigator, that the agency has approved their grant entitled, “Improving access to oral health care services for low income, uninsured, and underserved people with HIV.” The grant provides resources to train dental students, dental hygiene students, and dental residents to deliver dental care to patients with HIV, for a total of $38,227 over a one-year period. The total amount of HRSA funding for this initiative over the past nine years is $1.3 million.
