Hsu Awarded Grant to Study Long COVID Symptoms

Dr. Stephen Hsu, Professor in the Department of Oral Biology & Diagnostic Sciences, will serve as Principal Investigator for a new National Institutes of Health award, in combination with a recently funded AU-GSU Seed Award to develop new drugs to minimize neurologic symptoms associated with the long-term effects following a COVID infection.

The project, using both in vitro and in vivo models of SARS-CoV-2 infection, will be conducted in two BSL2 laboratories at Augusta University and two BSL3 laboratories at Georgia State University.

Congratulations, Dr. Hsu!
