Dr. Jimmy Londono, Professor in the Department of Restorative Sciences, has been appointed Program Director for the Advanced Dental Education Program in Prosthodontics at The DCG. Londono previously served as Interim Program Director.
As Program Director, Londono demonstrates strong leadership and expertise in the field. He will develop, administer, and implement curriculum plans and supervise eight prosthodontics residents. In addition, Londono will provide patient care, participate in research and collaborative activities at The DCG, and ensure that the program maintains adherence to academic and clinical requirements of the American Board of Prosthodontics (ABP).
The prosthodontics residency program provides dentists with the clinical experience and basic science foundation needed for advanced restorative techniques including fixed prosthodontics, removable prosthodontics, implant prosthodontics, and maxillofacial prosthetics. Graduates are qualified to take the examination of the American Board of Prosthodontics and the Council on Dental Accreditation (CODA).
Londono is a graduate of the Universidad Autonoma de Manizales and completed the prosthodontics residency program at AU in 2008, an internship in Oral Implantology at the Atlanta Center for Restorative Dentistry, as well as the AU/American Academy of Implant Dentistry Maxicourse.
In addition, Londono was a faculty in the Maxicourse for 12 years. He is the director of the implantology area in the Department of Prosthodontics and Director of the Ronald Goldstein Center for Aesthetics and Dental Implantology.
He is also board-certified by the ABP. He is an Associate Fellow of the American Academy of Dental Implantology (AAID), a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantology (ICOI), a Member of the Academy of Osseointegration (AO), a Member of the American Academy of Fixed Prostheses (AAFP), a Member of the American College of Prosthodontics (ACP) and Academy of Prosthodontics (AP).
Dr. Londono joined The DCG faculty in 2007 as an instructor.
