Mina Pinzon named coordinator of international services for International and Postdoctoral Services Office

The International and Postdoctoral Services Office (IPSO) welcomes Mina Pinzon as coordinator of international services and principal designated school official (PDSO) for Augusta University’s F-1 international student program.

Pinzon has over three years of experience as coordinator of international enrollment management at Troy University in Alabama. As AU’s new PDSO, Pinzon is motivated to utilize her skills in student service and committed to leading the F-1 international student program with her passion for student outreach and accessibility.

In 2017, Pinzon served as an adjunct instructor in the School of Journalism and Communication at Troy University. As an instructor, she taught and developed curriculum in addition to instructing about global media practices and cross-cultural communication. With Pinzon’s vast knowledge in international communication, her acquired skills and experience will benefit the F academic student program. After her time as an instructor, Pinzon became a financial aid counselor at Troy University where she served as the point of contact for international students and maintained compliance with federal regulations. This role provided Pinzon a solid foundation in addressing financial issues for international students.

Pinzon received her B.A. in Mass Media Communications and a Master of Mass Media Communication at the University of Ss. Cyril and Methodius Trnava in Slovakia. Currently, she is working towards her PhD in Global Leadership at Troy University.

“I am truly honored to join Augusta University’s IPSO team and to serve as the International Services Coordinator. This role gives me a wonderful opportunity to apply my experience in international student support and assist students with achieving their educational goals. I’m determined to foster a welcoming, globally minded environment where every F‑1 student feels valued and empowered,” says Pinzon.
