Dr. Ana Carolina Morandini, Assistant Professor in the Department of Oral Biology & Diagnostic Sciences and the Department of Periodontics, was recently awarded First Place in the AADOCR/CADR Joseph Lister Award for New Investigators competition at the 52nd meeting of the American Association for Dental, Oral, and Craniofacial Research (AADOCR) and 47th meeting of the Canadian Association for Dental Research (CADR), held March 15-18 in Portland, Oregon.
The award recognizes young investigators in the American and Canadian divisions of the International Association for Dental Research (IADR) with original research in oral disease prevention or oral health promotion. Winners of the competition go on to compete in the IADR Joseph Lister Award for New Investigators. Morandini was among eight finalists selected for this competition.
In addition to her award-winning work, Morandini presented the study “The role of CD73 in periodontitis” and served as the Chair of the session “Pathogenesis II: advances in host mediators in periodontal environment,” at the same meeting. Congratulations, Dr. Morandini!
