This Halloween season, the DCG chapter of the Student National Dental Association (SNDA) hosted a lunch and learn that was far from spooky! Our “Residency Isn’t Spooky” event brought together current residents and esteemed alumni for an afternoon of insightful conversations, delicious Laziza Mediterranean food and some much-needed myth-busting about residency programs.
A huge thank you to Dr. Dionne Aikhonbare, a DCG General Practice Resident; Dr. Cherie Murray, Dentist at Christ Community Health Services; Dr. Akindeko Obebe, Pediatric Dentist at Augusta Children’s Dental; Dr. Aierress Davis, a DCG Periodontics Resident; and Dr. Amber Durand (DMD, 2023), a Dentist at Suwanee Family Dentistry, for joining our panel and sharing their valuable experiences from their respective residency programs. They helped demystify the process, proving that while residency may seem intimidating, it’s a fantastic and rewarding journey!
We’re so grateful for their candid advice, the sense of camaraderie, and, of course, the chance to enjoy some delicious food together. Thanks to all who attended and made this event a success—residency doesn’t have to be spooky when we have such a supportive and knowledgeable community!
