Todd Schoenbaum, DDS, professor in the Department of Restorative Sciences at the Dental College of Georgia, was recently invited to present at two leading national conferences.

In October, Schoenbaum presented “Prosthetic Implant Complications: Causes, Prevention, and Management” at the 2023 Annual Session of the American College of Prosthodontics in San Diego, California. The presentation addressed the most common prosthetic implant complications in partially edentulous treatments. Some of the complications he covered were loose, stripped, or broken screws, progression of open contacts and short anterior crowns, “screwmentable” complications, cement induced peri-implantitis and more. Schoenbaum discussed the frequency of these complications, the common causes of them, strategies for preventing these complications and management techniques.

In November, Schoenbaum presented “Ideal Materials for Restorations in the Esthetic Zone” at the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons Annual Dental Implant Conference in Chicago, Illinois. This session provided valuable insights into advanced techniques and potential difficulties associated with achieving successful dental implant outcomes in the esthetic zone.

Congratulations to Dr. Schoenbaum, and thank you for continuing to promote the DCG!
