Students Volunteer at Garden City Rescue Mission

Dental College of Georgia students and faculty conducted oral cancer screenings and head and neck exams, as well as assessed emergent dental situations recently at Garden City Rescue Mission. Displaced individuals were able to receive behavioral health assessments, STI tests and identification of urgent medical and dental conditions. Thirty-four patients were treated and eight dental emergencies were successfully identified and referred to Christ Community Health for immediate treatment. The community outreach event was a coordinated effort lead by MCG students Joyce Kim and Grace Koh along with DCG student Michelle Tang.
