Alum To Be Inducted into Hall of Fame

DCG alum Dr. Shane Downey (DMD, 2000), owner of Chatsworth Family Dentistry in Chatsworth, Georgia, will be inducted into the Murray County High School (MCHS) Alumni Association Hall of Fame on Nov. 24.

Downey graduated from the University of West Georgia (B.S., Biology, 1996) before attending The DCG. He then served with the 347th Medical Group at Moody Air Force Base in Valdosta, Georgia, where he attained the rank of captain. After his discharge, he returned home to serve the people of Murray County. Downey was nominated by this aunt, Juanita Ensley Tipton, who said, “(His) academic and professional careers, along with his commitment to and investment in the people of Chatsworth and Murray County, make him deserving of induction into the MCHS Hall of Fame.”
