A Growing Hub for Connection, Practice, and Professional Learning

The Community of Learning & Teaching (CLT) has become AU Online’s central hub for faculty development, connection, and instructional support. Designed as a one-stop space for growth, CLT supports instructors in strengthening their online teaching practice while staying connected to colleagues across programs. Inside CLT faculty will find a variety resource including but certainly not limited to access to badged professional development modules, an Essentials course aligned with AUO Instructor Certification, a self-assessment tool that guides instructors to targeted learning pathways, an expanding resource library with templates, walkthroughs, and evidence-based teaching strategies.

Over the past several months, participation in CLT has continued to grow. Many instructors are also engaging in the CLT Community Conversations space in Yellowdig, where ideas, questions, and successes are actively shared. Conversations are buzzing in Community Conversations, and new resources are being added regularly – making CLT a reliable, go-to space for ongoing professional learning. Recent feedback on the AI for Instructors module has been especially encouraging, with faculty noting, “These were short examples of easy-to-implement strategies. Thank you for sharing them!!” and “Please keep this content open and available for future reference.”

Looking ahead, a new module launching in the spring term will focus on strengthening community in online courses, offering practical strategies to help instructors foster connection, belonging, and meaningful discourse in online learning environments.

Whether you’re just discovering CLT or have already been part of the conversation, we invite you to continue exploring, sharing, and growing.
