Curran, ’82, receives ASTRO Gold Medal

The American Society for Radiation Oncology has awarded its highest honor, the Gold Medal, to Winship Executive Director Dr. Walter J. Curran, Jr., during the 2019 annual ASTRO meeting in Chicago Sept. 14-18.

The Gold Medal is given to ASTRO members who have made outstanding contributions to the field of radiation oncology in research, clinical care, teaching and service. Curran is a 1982 graduate of the Medical College of Georgia.
