DCG Alum Appointed to Georgia Board of Dentistry

Dr. J. Don Spillers, Jr. (DMD, 1991) was inducted on Dec. 29 by Governor Brian Kemp (right) onto the Georgia Board of Dentistry (GBD). GBD members are appointed by the governor to protect public health in the practice of dentistry by regulating and enforcing the standards of practice.

Spillers will be one of 11 members in the state responsible for ensuring that standards are met across Georgia. Through the licensure process, the GBD ensures that those applying for licensure as a dentist or dental hygienist have acceptable education, training and personal character to safely practice in Georgia.

Spillers is the owner of Spillers Orthodontics, with offices in Warner Robins and Macon. He is a former president of the Georgia Association of Orthodontists and of the Central District Dental Society. Spillers is also a fellow of the Pierre Fauchard Academy, and a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, the Georgia Dental Association and the Southern Association of Orthodontists.
