The DCG celebrated autumn on Wednesday, Oct. 25, with the annual Fall Frolic celebration for staff, residents and faculty (see header photo). Dye’s Southern Catering provided lunch, while attendees enjoyed basketball, music, a costume contest, a visit from Augustus, sales by the Hispanic Student Dental Association and the AU RoarStore and a photo booth courtesy of Georgia’s Own Credit Union. More than 300 people enjoyed the cool fall weather and the company of colleagues and friends.

The Department of Orthodontics beat out stiff competition this year to take Best Group Costume with a Jurassic Park ensemble that included a skit about a giraffe running for its life – and losing. Orthodontics broke a long streak of wins from the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS), proving that with creativity and presentation, any department can win the contest. Best Individual Costume went to Natasha Hoks, dental assistant in OMFS, who wore a handmade Jabba the Hut costume carved from foam and hand-painted by Jacqueline Parham, an OMFS nurse.

All of the winners will celebrate with a luncheon with Dean Nancy Young.
