DCG Students Volunteer at Special Olympics

More than 80% of healthcare providers lack specific training for patients with intellectual disabilities.

That’s where our incredible DCG students step in! Partnering with Special Olympics Health’s Special Smiles initiative, they’re giving Special Olympics athletes the gift of confident smiles and healthy teeth.

Led by The DCG’s Student Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentists (SCAAPD), 12 dedicated DCG students volunteered their time alongside AU hygiene students and DCG alumni. Evan Boland, Anjali Dave, Timothy Do, Corey Eisner, Angela (Mac) Hulse, Fletcher Mazzola, Jerusalem Mbungu, Abdullah Muzeyen, Karishma Nayee, Jaimini Patel, Tanvi Patel, Danh Pham and Xuan Tran provided free screenings, mouth guards, sealants, and fluoride treatments for the athletes.

Our future dental professionals are making a real difference in the lives of these inspiring athletes. We’re proud of their dedication and compassion!
