Retired U.S. Navy Captain Frank K. Butler, Jr., MD, FAAO, FUHM, a 1980 graduate of the Medical College of Georgia, received the American College of Surgeons (ACS) Distinguished Military Lifetime Achievement Award in October, during the Convocation ceremony that preceded the opening of the College’s virtual Clinical Congress 2020, one of the largest international meetings of surgeons in the world. The award recognizes Dr. Butler’s outstanding contributions to the field of surgery during military service. Dr. Butler is the second recipient of the Distinguished Military Lifetime Achievement Award.
