Elashiry Wins AAI Award for Abstract

Dr. Mahmoud Elashiry, resident in the Department of Periodontics, recently earned one of the 2021 American Association of Immunologists (AAI) Trainee Abstract Awards for outstanding abstract on the implications of extracellular vesicles as immunotherapy for COVID-19.

As a part of the award, Dr Elashiry presented his project on May 10, at the AAI Annual Meeting. The title of Dr. Elashiry’s oral presentation was “Characterization, Biodistribution and Functional Studies of Immune-therapeutic Exosomes: Implications for Inflammatory Lung Diseases and COVID-19.”
