Frazier Honored for Contributions to Dental Assisting Training

Dental College of Georgia

Since 1995, Dr. Kevin Frazier, Vice Dean of the Dental College of Georgia, has served both Augusta University and Augusta Technical College (ATC). His contributions to AU are well documented; but less well known are his contributions to the Dental Assisting training program at ATC. Frazier has served on the program’s Advisory Committee for 25 years, linking it with the community, advising it of changes in the profession and helping to revise the scope of practice and the requirements for accreditation and certification.

ATC honored his impact on the program and its alumni at the biannual February meeting. In working with the advisory committee, Frazier helped determine community needs and objectives in the area of curricula and placement, provided essential communication between ATC and the community and advised on facilities and equipment to maximize students’ educational gains.
