Omicron Kappa Upsilon awarded Chapter of the Year

The Augusta University chapter of Omicron Kappa Upsilon (OKU), the national dental honors society, was awarded Chapter of the Year for the third time in 10 years at the March 12 OKU General Business Meeting. The DCG chapter, lead by Dr. Kevin Frazier, Vice Dean, and Dr. Tara Schafer, Chair of the Department of Pediatric Dentistry, as president, is one of the nation’s most active. In addition to recognizing the top 20 percent of the senior and junior classes, the chapter awards scholarships to the two senior, two junior and two sophomore students with the highest GPAs. The chapter also sponsors the annual Dr. Judson C. Hickey research award, an award for the best comprehensive patient case presentation by a senior, and the Dr. Ralph McKinney professional character award for a junior student.
