Owens, ’70, retired pulmonologist/critical care physician, died Oct. 17

Dr. Frederick Thomas Owens, a 1970 Medical College of Georgia graduate, died Oct. 17.

“He did his medical residency as a pulmonary specialist at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN. In 1977, after his two years of service in the U.S. Navy, he moved to Hickory, NC, where he established a practice in pulmonary medicine and critical care. He was one of the first such specialists in Western North Carolina.”
