The Augusta University chapter of The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi (PKP) welcomed 12 new student members and one staff member from The DCG at its 2024 initiation banquet on April 26 at the Augusta University Jaguar Student Activities Center.
Dr. Kevin Frazier, DCG Vice Dean and current president of the Augusta University chapter of PKP, welcomed the crowd and provided a memorial recognition of Dr. Lucy Marian, former Dean of the AU College of Nursing. Dr. Regina Messer, DCG Associate Dean for Student Admissions and president-elect, provided the history and significance of the organization. Dr. Elizabeth Huggins, AU Director of Student First- & Second-Year Experiences and PKP secretary, introduced the initiates.
Senior dental students Pari Bhat and Roslyn Joseph, and junior dental students Madeline Drummond, Kole W. Fisher, Madelyn Herrington, Christopher Hollingsworth, Yeram Kim, Jeffrey F. Mazzola, Caroline E. Slocum, Harrison J. Smith, Emily A. Summers and Clayton D. Timmerman all were celebrated for their superior scholarship in dental school.
Allison Brown, DCG Education Development Coordinator, was also recognized for achieving scholarly distinction through her graduate work in Instructional Design & Technology, and for the contributions she has made to The DCG’s academic environment as a staff member.
