Senior Students Staff Local Health and Resource Fair

Senior dental students Olivia Hoy, Jacqueline Anthony, and Naquita Dixson volunteered with the Equality Clinic and MCG Pride for the organizations’ first ever Health and Resource Fair at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Augusta. The fair was the finale to Come Out for Health Week, AU’s version of National LGBT Health Awareness Week. DCG students provided oral health education to attendees, while DCG Oral Health Outreach Coordinator Charmaine Walker manned the DCG table and provided information to all attendees and vendors about the services we offer. The DCG also supplied the event with oral health care kits for all age groups, educational material, tooth brushing timers, sugar free candies/tooth-shaped lollipops, and DCG swag. News Channels 6 and 12 were on site and aired stories that night at 10 and 11 p.m.
