Augusta University faculty and students partnered with Horizon Motor Coach to provide a health fair for their employees. The event offered free health screenings, similar to the Department of Transportation’s required exams for drivers, and educational sessions on healthy living.
The fair aimed to improve the health of drivers and provide students with valuable experience. Drivers received screenings for oral health, blood pressure, cholesterol, diabetes and more, along with information on nutrition and exercise. Students gained practical experience conducting mock DOT physicals and learned about the health risks associated with a sedentary lifestyle.
The event highlights the university’s commitment to community outreach and its focus on providing students with real-world learning opportunities.
