Smile Design Dental Studio, led by Dr. Franklyn Aguebor (DMD, 2016), recently returned from a successful mission trip to Kingston, Jamaica, where they provided essential dental care to underserved members of the community.
“We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to have served the community of Kingston,” Aguebor said. “Our team was inspired by the resilience and gratitude of the people we met, and we are committed to continuing our efforts to provide access to quality dental care for all.”
The mission team, comprised of a dentist, two dental assistants and six dental hygienists from BrownGirlRDH, spent four days providing services, including cleanings, extractions and fillings. Over the course of the trip, they were able to serve a total of 110 adults and children.
The team also conducted educational sessions for local children on proper oral hygiene, emphasizing the importance of brushing, flossing and regular dental check-ups.
