DCG Celebrates Alumni Award Winners

Each year during Alumni Weekend, distinguished and outstanding alumni from each college are honored for their dedication to the university and their chosen fields. Through these awards, the Alumni Association expresses its deep appreciation and admiration to alumni who bring honor not only to their alma mater, but also their communities, states, the nation, and the world.

Augusta University announced the recipients of the 2024 Distinguished Alumni and Outstanding Young Alumni awards. Winners from each college were recognized at their college events during AU Alumni Weekend.

The DCG celebrated Dr. Dave Lee (DMD, 1983 – photo left), founder and owner of Sparkling Smiles Fayetteville, in Fayetteville, Georgia, as Distinguished Alumnus. He practices with his daughter, Dr. Lauren Lee Polito (DMD, 2011). In addition to completing his DMD at The DCG, Lee is a graduate of the Foundation for Advanced Continuing Education, the L.D. Pankey Institute for Advanced Dental Education, the Las Vegas Institute of Advanced Dental Education and Baylor University’s Continuum of Contemporary Esthetic Diagnosis and Treatment.

The DCG also celebrated Dr. Jessica Brown (DMD, 2013), owner of Americus Dental, as Outstanding Young Alumna. She is past president of the Southwest District Dental Association (SWDDA) and currently serves on their executive board as an At-large Trustee. She has served on the GDA Board of Trustees and House of Delegates as President – Elect and now she serves as an At-large Trustee for SWDDA. She is a member of the Pierre Fauchard Academy, the International College of Dentists, and the Georgia Academy of Dental Practices. Dr. Brown has also been Awarded the Dental College of Georgia Outstanding Young Alumnus for 2024.
