The Dental College of Georgia recently named Dr. Bruce Riggs the 2021 recipient of the Teaching Excellence Award. This award is the DCG’s highest teaching recognition.

Riggs was praised by nominees for his positivity and preparedness. One resident said, “He creates the perfect amalgamation of ‘real-world’ and ‘academic’ dentistry, made possible by his many years of successful clinical practice.”

A dental student said, “He is always prepared for class and truly advocates for students and their success. He knows students by name and he remembers things such as where you are from and hobbies you may have and he tries to make those connections with students. His encouragement is boundless and his reputation is awesome.”
