Congratulations to Deborah Pitman and Daisy Cornelius (not pictured), office specialists in Instrument Control, for their career achievement of giving their first professional presentations. The dynamic duo constructed and delivered a lesson for the sophomore class on proper sterilization techniques of our instruments and the sterilization cycle.
“It was fun,” Pitman said. “The sophomores are fabulous. I enjoy them so much.”
The purpose was to educate students on the kinds of sterilization techniques used at The DCG, such as peroxide and steam; to provide an overview of the process and to communicate the impact of proper procedures and handling on patient care. Both Pitman and Cornelius are certified dental assistants; Cornelius is also a state-certified sterilization technician.
